Installation Guidance

Impedance Analyzer Packing List:

  1. Main unit
  2. Mains power supply for the main unit
  3. Test fixture cable
  4. Serial port cable
  5. CD (software, user manual)
  6. Brief installation guide, certificate of conformity, warranty card

The system requires a standard computer with the following minimum requirements:

  1. Equipped with an RS232 port
  2. Operating system of Win2000 or Win XP
  3. No restrictions on computer processor speed, memory, or hard disk; it should be able to run the Win2000 operating system at the minimum.
  4. Monitor resolution of 1280×768 or above.

Installation Process:

  1. Insert the CD and directly copy the “software” folder to the hard drive, then run the exe file.
  2. Connect the computer to the main unit with the serial port cable.
  3. Connect the power supply to the impedance analyzer main unit.
  4. Install the impedance analyzer test fixture, please install it on the two middle Q9 sockets of the four sockets.
  5. Turn on the power supply of the impedance analyzer main unit.
  6. Connect the test fixture to the transducer or other piezoelectric devices, pay attention to the posture of the transducer, which is usually lying flat on a soft pad; incorrect posture can lead to inaccurate measurement data.
  7. Open the software PiezoView, select “Serial Port,” enter the “Start Frequency” and “End Frequency,” click “Start” or press the spacebar on the keyboard, and the system will start scanning.
  8. After the scanning process is finished, the impedance analysis graph is displayed at the bottom of the screen; you can select the coordinate system to view the graph in various coordinates, and the device’s complete parameters are displayed on the upper right of the screen.

Precautions:

  1. If your computer does not have an RS232 port, you can use a USB-to-RS232 adapter. Please refer to the impedance analyzer manual for its use.
  2. Please do not change the test device during the scanning process.
  3. The alligator clips of the test fixture are prone to open circuit failures after many uses, which users can self-inspect.
  4. If long leads are used to extend the test fixture cable, certain errors may be introduced due to the effects of parasitic parameters.
